Frank Zappa
Добавлен 1 янв 2006
Welcome to the official RUclips channel of Frank Zappa.
In his unprecedented and incredibly prolific career, Zappa released more than 60 groundbreaking albums during his lifetime, as a solo artist and with his bands, The Mothers of Invention and The Mothers. From the early primal psychedelic rock of The Mothers Of Invention’s 1966 debut album, Freak Out!, one of the earliest double albums in rock, to the jazz-rock fusion of 1969’s’s Hot Rats, to the experimental, envelope pushing of 1969’s Uncle Meat and 1971’s surrealistic film and soundtrack, 200 Motels, to the orchestral compositions of his later years, Zappa’s unrelentless artistic drive, pushed him into a dizzying array of musical worlds, never content to stay in one lane for very long.

That's how I have always done it also
Zappa sucks on guitar playing
Great Theory 👍🏽
Frank was a nonconformist. His musical style was atypical, employing many orchestral instruments. Zappa music was a avant garde fusion of blues, funk, rock, classical and jazz.
People love John Lennon for his music which is all about peace woman beating child neglect and theft
Decorating time.
I did that a couple times in my dreams it was epic, i wish i could be proficient in an instrument so i could try in real life.
This is how i approach
Franks has always been great
He didn’t know what he was going to play and it sounded like it was
You could of swept an entire SR-71 Blackbird hangar out with that mustache in under thirty minutes while Zappa played a guitar solo.
Aaron Rodgers lookin azz
He literally just described an "improvised" /"freestyle" solo which people do all of the time. It's playing guitars how they would not typically be played is or using them in ways that it's not meant for when it becomes interesting.
He despised people, groups, that tried to label him. His confidence is inimitable.
A talented spaz
He was a true musical genius!
Genius
Its easy to be a sloppy unstructured guitar player, no matter how eloquently he describes his style. It's tough to be a Joe Bonamassa or Eric Johnson ... that degree of guitar playing excellence takes decades to master.
this
fucking awesome.
Yeah, like Titties and Beer is an iconic music masterpiece...... I don't think so!
I never really got into Zappa but hes a philosopher and I like his ideas.
Yeah, Frank Zappa is a true legend! He’s in my 5 along with Mark Knopfler (Diar Straights), and Eric Clapton, Prince, and 🤔 Angus 👍❤️ I recommend people go from here to Angus Young (AC/DC) “Awesome guitar Solo”… you’re welcome
Finish him level Humble brag
Basic mechanical knowledge of the instrument 🎸
I agree to a point. Some solos you can jam on and let the solo play itself. Other songs have solos where adding removing or changing anything will take away from the song. You never want to make a song worse. Red house you can let that express itself. Something like November rain Would take away and change the song if you just played whatever. For A 15 minute version of a freebird or almond brothers song, you better have the ability to “freestyle” for a while. If you play bluejeans, give ZZ Top their respect and learn it correctly before thinking something you do will make that song better than they recorded it.
Well said
This is such a profound thing to say. I love when he says you have a piece of time and you get to decorate it. In a way that’s a great thing to say about life.
Much like Guthrie Govan. They never do the same solo. Frank was great, but Guthrie is on another level.
It's called jazz my man 😂
Great answer, humble human. Left me wanting an example.
Why does Frank Zappa annoy me so much. He seems like such a tool
Some of us like to practice and we want to be to be spotless
Basic mechanical knowledge lmao! Talk about underselling
Genius musician! RIP Frank
Why is he hooked up to a lie detector?
Frank ❤ Watch out for the yellow snow
Zappa was such an asshole
A man who knows his love of his craft
Like he’s the only player who improvises solos 😒
Beautiful Hey guys look up czech republic..and Zappa. I worked there.. pretty freaking incredible
"You have a piece of Time, and you get to decorate it". Fuck man...that is deep! Marty McFly would call it "Heavy"
Love that answer.
That's Why you sucked
Best way to play ✌️
Sang the lyrics to zombie woof in the 70s at 5 am throwing newspapers good stuff
The possession takes over when they perform live and it’s not them playing anymore.
Do you think hes great despite his arrogance, or because of it? Or maybe both?
Yo! ❤
Soupy Sales figured it out, nice
I like zappa but he was too pretentious to survive. He's like I can improvise so im special
